I don’t want to tell you the story of Darlene Love and her three-legged race with the ever-sheisty Phil Spector. I want you to read her interview with NPR instead. She’s being inducted into the Rock’n Roll Hall of Fame in March with four other iconic stars from over the years. NPR’s Morning Edition is doing a series of interviews with each of the inductees between now and the ceremony. I suggest you follow along, it’s fascinating.

You know her music, so sing along. It’s about time she get recognized for the music she’s given the world. Is “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” not one of your favorite Christmas songs of all time?

This is the music that I love in my secret heart, the secret heart that picked out a 50′s pattern for my wedding dress, that always paints my toenails even though I am not a girly girl, the part that makes cocktails and knows how to make cocktail appetizers and will not drink a milkshake unless it’s malted.
