Save the Dates

We’re still looking for our breakthrough for our save-the-dates. Isaiah is a brilliant graphic designer, but sometimes it feels like even the most brilliant graphics, without a great idea behind them are just pretty, not radical.  We’re looking for an idea that we’re proud to say, “Hell yeah, those are our save the dates.”

We’re having our engagement shoot in two weeks with a great student photographer. She is part of a duo: Kristiane and Brandon. We should probably wait until after that to get too creative with our sa-the-da’s. Right now, I’m stockpiling photos I love like a squirrel so we can be sure to have the most tell-yo-mama-worthy-photo shoot ever.

Anyways, here’s the inspiration I found for today:

From Bridezilla, these ticket inspired beauts have been on my mind for some reason. They’re really simple and creative and it doesn’t seem like you could go wrong recreating them with a little more flash. We’ve been in love with ticket inspired save-the-dates from the get-go, I’m not sure this particular design screams Isaiah & Lizzie so much though.

I am loving these save-the-dates I saw on RocknRoll Bride this morning. Isaiah’s not as big of a fan, probably because they’re pretty girly. He’s picky because he is the one who has to spend 1,020,057 hours in front of the computer tweaking the design, he wants to love it.

I found these awesome retro poster save the dates by Zed & Bee on Brooklyn Bride.

Are they not…incredible? I especially love what they wrote “a gathering to celebrate an epic love affair…”
