Carnival-Themed Invites

by lizzie & isaiah on June 2, 2010 · 0 comments

Since deciding on Carnivale for the wedding, I started browsing some carnival-themed invites. I fell in love with these so far, what do you think?

I’m totally into this carnival-inspired, complete-with-ticket invitation suite from Zenadia Designs:

This carnival-themed suite was featured on 100 Layer Cake today:

Any other ideas for carnival-themed invites and which ones are your fave?

Sa-the-Das: Inspiration. Party of One.

by lizzie & isaiah on May 26, 2010 · 0 comments

We’re still looking for our breakthrough for our save-the-dates. Isaiah is a brilliant graphic designer, but sometimes it feels like even the most brilliant graphics, without a great idea behind them are just pretty, not radical.  We’re looking for an idea that we’re proud to say, “Hell yeah, those are our save the dates.”

We’re having our engagement shoot in two weeks with a great student photographer. She is part of a duo: Kristiane and Brandon. We should probably wait until after that to get too creative with our sa-the-da’s. Right now, I’m stockpiling photos I love like a squirrel so we can be sure to have the most tell-yo-mama-worthy-photo shoot ever.

Anyways, here’s the inspiration I found for today:

From Bridezilla, these ticket inspired beauts have been on my mind for some reason. They’re really simple and creative and it doesn’t seem like you could go wrong recreating them with a little more flash. We’ve been in love with ticket inspired save-the-dates from the get-go, I’m not sure this particular design screams Isaiah & Lizzie so much though.

I am loving these save-the-dates I saw on RocknRoll Bride this morning. Isaiah’s not as big of a fan, probably because they’re pretty girly. He’s picky because he is the one who has to spend 1,020,057 hours in front of the computer tweaking the design, he wants to love it.

What do you think? Have you seen any rock-your-socks-off save the dates lately?

What to Wear: Engagement Shoot

May 13, 2010

We are having our engagement shoot done by this fantastic student photographer from my school in about 2-3 weeks. She has awesome rates and is really talented…So, that’s checked off the list. But now, what-ever-will-I-wear. I found a few dresses I really like for the engagement shoot, and since we are going to have our [...]

Awesome Variations on the Scratch-Off Save the Dates

May 11, 2010

Went hunting for some more awesome scratch-off Sa-the-Da’s and found these from Etsy seller UnlessSomeoneLikeYou, who unfortunately does not appear to be selling on Etsy anymore. There is a blog with recent custom designs though, and they are pretty rad. * Update! Found the site where you can buy Leslie Hamer’s designs! CAMERA: I love [...]

Scratch-Off Save the Dates

May 10, 2010

We are completely taken with these scratch-off save-the-dates. They just might be our favorite so far. Although there’s no picture of us, we could always include a film strip in the envelope, or we could have our faces under the scratch off instead. (Inside laugh). Anyway, here they are in all their glory from the [...]

3D Save the Dates

May 9, 2010

Isaiah and I are nerds for some 3D.  We geeked out at Avatar and Isaiah wants a 3D TV one day. I saw these awesome save-the-dates on Etsy, and we both freaked out just a little bit. “We should do 3D invites!!” We’re not decided yet, but here’s our inspiration, because as Elizabeth the stripper [...]

Etsy Save the Dates

April 28, 2010

Isaiah is a graphic designer.  We have already decided he will be designing our save the dates. So far, we’ve found a few inspiring examples, but in a disappointing Etsy search, we didn’t find everything we had expected in our favorite handmade wonderland. We came across this Save the Date idea to use library cards [...]

Save the Dates and Invitation Posters

April 21, 2010

I freaked out a little bit when I saw these save-the-date posters with matching mailing labels, invitations and even adorable tickets to match. As I’m sure I’ve mentioned too many times, Isaiah is a very talented graphic designer and former lead singer in a rock band. He loved the idea of using his graphic design [...]
